Temps are still too low for all this snow to melt. The only “clear” running surfaces around are in the middle of the road. It’s times like these that a treadmill would come in handy.

Taking a couple days off to rest. We did go for an hour long walk yesterday to take photographs in the fog. No running for either of us until tomorrow. My legs feel way too sore and need to recover. I think we should have taken a couple days off after the 10k instead of jumping right back into it. Better to rest now than really get injured.
First beer of the year… a couple days after New Year’s. That’s right… I had myself a dry New Year’s Eve. Part of this whole transformation/getting in shape thing means a major reduction in alcohol consumption. Can’t really get in shape if yer on the sauce. Right?
Aside from fitness goals, another goal for me is summed up in the picture above. Not sure how I’ll do that yet.
On the very last day of the year we finished the very last day of the 5-10K program. Sweet 30 minute run in the brisk cold of early Winter. We were actually supposed to run yesterday but had company over so we postponed to today. Today’s run ended with coffee and treats at Seven Stars Bakery in Rumford.
We’ve decided that tomorrow we will run our first 10k as a way to start the new year. We’re also in need of a new challenge. I plan to do the #writeandrun31 challenge.
