On the very last day of the year we finished the very last day of the 5-10K program. Sweet 30 minute run in the brisk cold of early Winter. We were actually supposed to run yesterday but had company over so we postponed to today. Today’s run ended with coffee and treats at Seven Stars […]
Today’s run was pretty great. Ran the first mile in 11 minutes then slowed the pace for the remaining 19 minutes of the run. We’ve been making Whole Foods our post-run pit stop lately. Fresh pineapple and probiotic smoothie to recover. Yum. We are halfway through our 30 Day Challenges as of today. Feeling sore […]
Entering the final week on this program. All “rest” runs of 30 minutes each. Today we ran to Wickenden so we could drop in at the Coffee Exchange for refreshment, a pound of coffee, and the ceramic mugs we’ve been wanting. 12 minute/mile pace. 9 pushups today and 75 squats for the challenges. Whew.
Keep running and you’ll continue to improve. We finished c25k on October 24th and immediately started this 5-10k program. We have one week left then will attempt a 10k in however long it takes us. Today we did our longest run ever. 60 minutes. 60. Minutes. We were actually supposed to do this run on Saturday but my left […]
Ran slow on purpose today so that recovery would be quicker. Saturday is the 60 minute run some want to be rested well for that. Today was also rest day from the squats challenge. I actually feel more sore from that than the running. Tomorrow we do 60. I’m feeling that already.
It was supposed to be a 30 minute run today but the course I plotted out was a 5k. Took us 37 minutes to run it. Slower than my official 5k time but that’s ok since this route had one long hill that really ate into the time. Keri’s 5k time has improved by at […]
Today Keri and I both ran our longest run ever. 55 minutes! I plotted out a course that took us across the river and along the shore for a bit before it ran up and parallel to Blackstone Boulevard. At the very end we cut over to the Blackstone’s midpoint and ran back down toward […]
Limited time today since Keri and I made plans to drive to Eggie’s for a visit. We opted to run to the Zip car pickup spot across the river by the Eastside Market. 22 minute run total. I wasn’t fully recovered from yesterday’s run so I wasn’t fast at all. Rest tomorrow then our 55 […]
It has been a rainy week but today it finally cleared up enough to start Week 7. Took a slightly different route over the river which we had planned as a 5k. Took a wrong turn up an unmarked road which screwed it up a bit and we only logged 3.75km today. That’s ok though […]
