Keri and I went to see these guys perform last night at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in downtown Providence. They are awesome! If you ever get a chance to see them perform go for it. Gypsy Punk is so much fun. The last gypsy punk show Keri and I saw was at Monterey Live where Fishtank Ensemble was performing.

At about 11:30 tonight, just after Keri had mixed up a bunch of cricket dough, she says, “Doherty’s.” Woo! Game on! Keri treated us to a real late dinner at Doherty’s East Avenue Irish Pub where it just so happens Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and L.A. Lakers was up on the screens. We arrived just in time to catch the end of the game which the Celtics won 97-91! I’ve never been much of a sports fan but ever since moving to New England I can’t help but root for the home teams.
We’re back home now and I’m enjoying the light little buzz from the two gansetts I had at the pub and listening to the latest new songs on Keri’s iTunes. Currently playing “Perfect Situation” by Weezer.

Now that the weather has warmed up around here I’ve been able to work up in the studio. So, a couple days ago I dusted off my drums and have started practicing again. Experimenting with some recordings too. I’ll be collaborating with my old bandmate Randy on some new songs of his. In addition to the drums, tonight I cleaned up my guitar. Stripped off all the old stickers I’d put on there years ago, left the band names, and polished the whole thing up. Tomorrow I’ll try my hand at stamping words or designs onto the pickguard. Maybe. Ha. Here’s the guitar…
