Here’s a live performance of Glenn Kotche’s Monkey Chant. For those of you who don’t know, Glenn Kotche is the drummer for the band Wilco. When he isn’t touring with the band he’s out opening for other bands and playing these crazy cool percussion pieces. Keri and I were fortunate enough to see him open for Andrew Bird at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in downtown Providence last November. Check out the video, it’s long but worth it. Also, here’s an interview with the man himself where he gives the back-story on this particular composition.
